Michael Yamada has an extensive work experience in the field of Information Technology and Operations. Michael started their career at Townsend and Townsend and Crew in 1991, working as a Manager of Information Services until 1996. Michael then joined Graham James as a Director of Information Technology from 1996 to 1999. Following that, they worked at Aviron (now MedImmune) as a Senior Director of Information Technology from 1999 to 2002. In 2004, they joined BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. as a Director of Information Technology for a year. Yamada then moved to Nektar Therapeutics in 2005, where they served as a Senior Director of Information Technology until 2007. Their most recent role was at Geron Corporation, where they held various positions starting from Senior Director of Information Technology from 2007 to 2011, followed by Executive Director of Information Technology & Operations from 2011 to 2013. Lastly, they held the role of Vice President of Systems and Facilities Operations at Geron Corporation from 2013 onwards.
Michael Yamada received their Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Caltech in 1986. Michael then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Chemistry at Harvard University from 1986 to 1988.
