The growth of the international market for liquid cargoes, combined with evolving transport needs, has led to a heightened focus on protecting both human life at sea and the marine environment.

These factors laid the foundation for the establishment of Gestioni Armatoriali Srl. United by a long-standing friendship forged through years of shared experience within the Italian shipping community, Nicola Coccia and the Bazzi family of Ravenna launched a new business venture in 1993 focused on the maritime transport of petrochemical products.

The Company’s Board of Directors is chaired by Nicola Coccia—an expert in both the maritime sector and international finance, and a former president of the Italian Shipowners' Association (Confitarma)—working alongside Gian Luca Bazzi.

The Company has established and maintains a documented procedure to set, implement, and maintain documented environmental objectives and targets at each relevant function and level—both ashore and on board every vessel under its management. These objectives and targets are measurable (wherever possible) and consistent with the environmental policy (which is part of the Company’s IMS policy); they incorporate commitments to pollution prevention, compliance with applicable legal and other requirements to which the Company subscribes, and continuous improvement. When establishing and reviewing its objectives and targets, the Company takes into account applicable legal and other requirements as well as its significant environmental aspects. The Company also considers its technological options, financial, operational, and business requirements, and the views of interested parties. Furthermore, the Company establishes, implements, and maintains environmental management programs (EMPs) to achieve its objectives and targets.
