Max Brouwers

Max Brouwers has over 25 years of work experience in the energy industry. Max currently serves as the Chief Business Development Officer at Getech, where they lead the company's business development efforts in sectors such as Petroleum & CCS, Hydrogen, Geothermal, and Critical Minerals. Max'sprimary focus is on driving the company's Energy Transition strategy and achieving growth in global markets.

Prior to their role at Getech, Max worked at Shell for over two decades in various leadership positions. As the Vice President Exploration Europe-Russia-Caspian, they led exploration efforts in the region and played a key role in driving the Energy Transition for Global Exploration. During this time, Max managed a large team and budget, developed innovative growth programs at the intersection of Energy Transition, Digital, and Subsurface, and specialized in areas such as geothermal, CCS, and strategic mineral opportunities. Max successfully streamlined the portfolio across the operating range, achieved significant growth in Russia, established joint ventures, and turned around operational results in the UK.

Max also served as the Vice President Exploration Latin America, South Atlantic Exploration & Appraisal Manager, and Exploration Manager Brazil at Shell, where they gained extensive experience in managing exploration activities in different regions. Max also held the position of Head of Global Exploration Strategy & Planning, where they played a key role in shaping the company's exploration strategy and building staff competencies.

Before joining Shell, Max worked as a Project Leader for the redeployment of an offshore platform, a New Business Development advisor, a UK Exploration Team Member, and a Geologist/Seismic Interpreter in the UK.

Max Brouwers holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Geology from Utrecht University, which they obtained from 1991 to 1996. Max also completed an MBA program at Erasmus University Rotterdam from 2000 to 2001.
