Maher Kassim

Maher Kassim has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as Sr. Director of Technology at Zmags since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Cimpress from 2015 to 2021, holding roles such as Principal Software Engineer, Lead Software Engineer, and Software Engineer. In 2014, Maher worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Vistaprint. In 2012, they had two roles, first as a Bioinformatics Research Student at The Hospital for Sick Children, where they contributed to various research projects using Perl and Bash scripts. Then, they worked as a Bioinformatics Software Developer at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research, contributing to the development of the WormBase online resource using Perl with the Catalyst MVC framework. Maher's earliest work experience was as a Software Test Engineer at Bioinformatics Solutions Inc., where they established the testing workflow, trained and managed new programmers, and prepared extensive documentation from 2010 to 2011.

Maher Kassim attended the University of Waterloo from 2008 to 2015, where they pursued a Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Bioinformatics.
