Carlos Pires

Carlos Pires is an experienced International Field Service Engineer at Getinge since August 2021, previously serving as a Field Service Engineer in Customer Service at Applikon Biotechnology from April 2017 to September 2021. Carlos has a background in research, having worked as a Research Fellow at both Brunel University London and Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto, focusing on the phylogenetic characterization of fungal strains and antifungal susceptibility evaluations. The academic journey includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Biotechnology and a Master's degree in Biotechnology from Cranfield University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Genetics from Universidade de Coimbra. Carlos also contributed as a Visiting PhD Student at Escola Superior de Biotecnologia da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, involving studies in bacterial diversity and novel remedial technology systems.
