Sofian Obaid

Sofian Obaid, PhD, is currently a Senior Systems Engineer at Getinge, specializing in Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump R&D since February 2024. Prior to this role, Sofian worked at ZOLL Medical Corporation as a Senior Biomedical Engineer focusing on portable ventilator R&D from August 2023 to February 2024. Sofian's academic background includes a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from The George Washington University, where significant research contributions were made, including the development of flexible, implantable devices for cardiac and neuroscience applications, leading interdisciplinary teams in experimental validation, and mentoring fellow students.
