Wasem Khalid

Wasem Khalid is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in the biomedical field. Currently serving as Engineer II at Getinge since May 2025, Wasem previously held the position of Research and Development Engineer II at Artivion, Inc. from November 2020 to May 2025, where leadership was demonstrated in the design and prototyping of class III cardiovascular implants. Earlier roles include Intern Prototype Engineer at Mount Sinai Bio Design, focusing on catheter design for treating Arteriovenous Malformations, and Research Technician at The City College of New York, where research on physiological transport was conducted. Additionally, a Project Engineer role at Burke Neurological Institute involved the development of a portable hand exoskeleton prototype, achieving significant cost reductions. Wasem holds a Master's degree in Translational Medicine and a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from The City College of New York.
