Pete Buckney is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in engineering and product development across various industries. Currently serving as Head of Engineering at Pliant since May 2025, Pete previously held the same title at hi.health, where innovative solutions for private health insurance claims were developed. At Railsr, from September 2018 to December 2022, Pete established a new Financial Experience product and built a high-availability API platform while leading a substantial engineering team. Prior experiences include roles such as Product Owner at Skills Matter, Director & Partner at Co Made, and various consulting positions, including Technology Consultant for Producers Direct, where impactful technology solutions were implemented for agriculture in developing regions. Academically, Pete holds a BA (Hons) in Classics from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Computing from De Montfort University.
