Shinji Kim

Shinji Kim has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles.

Shinji is currently the Founder & CEO of Select Star, a position they have held since March 2020.

Prior to that, Shinji worked as a Startup Advisor, Investor & Mentor for various companies starting in 2017. Shinji provided mentorship to Grand Central Tech, Techstars NYC, and First Round Capital, advising and investing in pre-seed/seed stage companies in B2B SaaS, Enterprise tech, and Machine Learning/Data platforms.

From 2014 to 2018, Shinji was the Co-founder & CEO of Concord Systems, Inc., a company focused on distributed stream processing. Shinji raised seed investment from Bloomberg Beta and angel investors and secured customers in Financial Services, Adtech, and IoT sectors.

Shinji also worked at Akamai Technologies from 2016 to 2018 in two different roles. Shinji served as the Senior Manager, Product Management - IoT Edge Connect, leading the development of Akamai's IoT platform and working closely with major customers in Automotive, Consumer Electronics, and Manufacturing. Shinji also served as the Senior Manager, Platform Infrastructure Engineering - Distributed Data Engineering during this time.

Before that, Shinji was a Product Manager at YieldMo from 2013 to 2014, where they played a significant role in Ad Format development, A/B Testing, and Ad Performance Optimization.

In 2012, Shinji founded ShufflePix, a turn-based asynchronous social game, and designed and developed the game.

Earlier in their career, Shinji worked as an Analyst at Deloitte Consulting from 2010 to 2012. Shinji also interned at Facebook in Internet Marketing/International Growth in 2009.

In 2008, Shinji worked as an Enterprise Software Engineer at Barclays Capital, where they developed applications for data warehouse management and HR workflow. Shinji also led a team of Software Engineers in building and maintaining internal tools. During the same year, they worked briefly as a Statistical Analyst/Data Scientist at Sun Microsystems.
