Danette Smith

Danette Smith is the Director of Compliance at Squire. Danette has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically in the area of compliance.

Danette started their career in 1999 as a Senior Relationship Manager at First Data Corporation. In this role, they were responsible for ensuring that the company's Independent Sales Organizations (ISOs), Merchant Service Providers (MSPs), and Agents were in compliance with Visa/MasterCard guidelines and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

In 2003, Danette left First Data to join Priority Payment Systems as the Director of Card Brand Sponsorship Compliance. In this role, they were responsible for working with legal counsel and the sponsor bank to proactively ensure that all ISOs, MSPs, and Agents were in compliance with the legal terms of their ISO Processing Agreement.

In 2019, Danette left Priority Payment Systems to join Safra National Bank of New York as the FVP Head of Compliance for Merchant Services. This role was responsible for overseeing compliance for the bank's merchant services division.

In their current role as Director of Compliance at Squire, Danette is responsible for ensuring that the company is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Danette Smith has a degree in Fine Arts/Computer Graphics from the New York Institute of Technology.
