David Poulnot

David Poulnot has extensive work experience in various industries. David began their career as a Deck Cadet at APL in 2005 and also worked as a Deck Cadet at the Military Sealift Command and U.S. Shipping Corporation. In 2006, they interned at the Charleston Branch Pilots Association and later joined ExxonMobil as a Fleet Deck Officer from 2008 to 2012. David then worked at Conitex Sonoco USA as a Business Development Consultant and at Manzanillo International Terminal as a Port Operations Intern in 2013. From 2014 to 2019, David held positions at ExxonMobil, serving as an International Marine Fuels Account Executive and a Retail Fuels Territory Manager. David joined the U.S. Navy Reserve in 2008 and served as a Lieutenant until 2019, supporting national defense sealift requirements. In 2019, David joined Upside as a Senior Account Executive and later progressed to Strategic Accounts Lead. David then served as Senior Director of Strategic Accounts and VP of Sales - Fuel & Convenience before currently taking on the role of VP of Multi-Vertical Sales.

David Poulnot attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation. In 2012, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a concentration in Marketing & Business Analytics at the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business, completing the program in 2014. In 2013, they also participated in an Intensive Spanish Language and Business Overview program at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Additionally, David has obtained certifications in Technology for Product Managers, Salesforce: Dashboards, and Digital Transformation from Lynda.com in 2019.
