Dan Allen

Dan Allen's work experience includes various roles in engineering and management positions. Dan is currently the Director of Engineering at Weave since February 2022. Prior to this, they were a Senior Engineering Manager at Weave from December 2021 to January 2022, and an Engineering Manager from January 2021 to November 2021. Before joining Weave, Dan worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Weave from October 2019 to December 2020.

Dan also has a background in founding and leading companies. Dan was the President and Co-founder of VSSL, a company specializing in whole-home music systems and integration with voice and IoT ecosystems, from June 2015 to October 2019. Before that, they served as the Director of Product Development at TruAudio from December 2013 to June 2015, where they implemented new ideation strategies and processes that eventually led to the establishment of VSSL.

Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, Dan gained experience as a Product Management Intern at Control4 from May 2013 to November 2013, where they managed hardware projects and proposed new features. Dan also worked as an Associate Hardware Engineer at L-3 Communications from April 2011 to May 2013, where they focused on advanced communications hardware, firmware development, and FPGA design. Earlier in their career, they were an Electrical Engineering Assistant at Space Dynamics Laboratory from May 2008 to April 2011, responsible for digital hardware development for satellites and space weather instrumentation.

Dan also had a brief stint as a Co-Op Electrical Engineer at L-3 Communications from June 2010 to August 2010.

Dan Allen earned their B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Following that, they furthered their education at the University of Utah - David Eccles School of Business from 2011 to 2013 and obtained an MBA. During their MBA, Dan focused on New Product Development and Entrepreneurship.
