Oliver Strobel

Oliver Strobel has a strong work history in the technology industry. Oliver began their career at the University of Waterloo as a Summer Research Assistant from April 1999 to August 2001. Following this, they joined BlackBerry as a Student Software Engineer from September 2003 to December 2005. Oliver then transitioned to a Full Stack Engineer at BlackBerry from January 2006 to June 2014.

In 2014, Oliver moved to RhodeCode where they held several roles including Senior Software Engineer - Core Technology from June 2014 to November 2014, Engineering Manager - Installation & Packaging from November 2014 to July 2015, and Lead Product Engineer - Release from July 2015 to June 2016.

Oliver's most recent work experience is at GetYourGuide, where they have held various positions since 2016. Oliver started as Head of Engineering - Paid Search from June 2016 to February 2017, then became Director of Engineering - Growth from February 2017 to April 2021. Currently, they hold the role of Director of Engineering, Marketplace at GetYourGuide since April 2021.

Oliver Strobel completed their Bachelor of Computing degree in Computer Science from the University of Guelph, from the year 2001 to 2006. In addition, they have obtained several certifications including Certified Agile Leadership (CAL1) from Scrum Alliance in August 2018, Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) in November 2017, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) in September 2015, Certified Scrum Master (CSM) in May 2015, and PADI Open Water Diver from PADI in August 2013.
