Samir Ghobril

Samir Ghobril has a diverse range of work experience in the field of iOS development. Samir currently holds the position of Senior iOS Engineer at GetYourGuide, starting in April 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an iOS Engineer at Delivery Hero from June 2020 to March 2022.

Samir also worked at Anghami, where they held the role of iOS Engineer from July 2018 to May 2020. In this position, they were involved in creating multiple features in Swift and Objective-C, including multithreading, Realm database management, and integration with RESTful APIs. Samir also contributed to a UI refactor using an MVVM architecture, RxSwift, IGListKit, and protocol-oriented programming. Additionally, they worked on various extensions to the base iOS app, such as Apple Watch, SiriKit, and integration with 3rd party car platforms.

Before joining Anghami, Samir worked as an iOS Developer at Oqunet from July 2015 to June 2016. In this role, they built and designed a full front-end iPhone app for an online store solution using Objective-C.

Furthermore, Samir has experience as an iOS Instructor at AUB Plus - The Tech Club, where they co-planned tech workshops and events, managed and instructed iOS development workshops, and assisted in Python development workshops from September 2014 to January 2016. Samir also interned as an iOS Development Intern at Anghami in September and October 2015.

Samir's earliest work experience in the field was as a Web Development Intern at Layout Intl. from July 2011 to August 2012.

Samir Ghobril attended Jesus and Mary School from 2001 to 2014. Samir then pursued their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut, graduating in 2018.
