Sofia Ribeiro

Sofia Ribeiro is an accomplished academic and research professional with extensive experience in the field of biology. Currently serving as a Professor and Senior Research Scientist at GEUS since January 2015, Sofia has held various roles at the institution, including Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Researcher. Previous experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Lund University from January 2012 to January 2014 and a PhD student position at the University of Copenhagen from 2008 to May 2011. Additionally, Sofia has freelanced as a Writer, Editor, and Production Assistant for the Global Biodiversity Information Facility. Education credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Biology from the University of Copenhagen, further leadership training from Copenhagen Business School, and a Licenciatura in Biology from the University of Lisbon, complemented by an Erasmus exchange at Universitat de Barcelona.
