William Maina

William Maina is currently the Head of Energy Derivatives at GFI Group, overseeing JKM, TTF, and EUA options, a role they have held since 2018. Prior to this position, William served as a Cross Commodities Senior Broker for Freight Investor Services and worked as a Junior Fund Manager at Banque Jean-Philippe Hottinguer & Cie. William began their education at EDHEC Business School, where they earned a Master I in Finance, and further enhanced their qualifications with a Specialised Master II in Financial Markets & Investments from SKEMA Business School. They are fluent in English and a native French speaker, with proficiency in Spanish and a range of technical skills.
