Summer Smith is a fourth-year Civil Engineering student at North Carolina State University, expected to graduate in 2026. Summer gained practical experience as a Roadside Environmental-Erosion Control Unit Intern at the North Carolina Department of Transportation from May 2023 to August 2023, collaborating with engineers to create erosion control plans for road construction and observing the review process for contractor submissions. Currently, Summer is serving as a Water Resources Engineering Intern at GFT since January 2024, and will further expand skill sets as an Engineering Dive Intern at KCI from May 2025 to August 2025. Additionally, Summer contributes as an NCSU Engineering Ambassador from April 2023 to May 2024.
