Joan Walbert is an experienced professional in architecture and landscape design, currently serving as a Senior Associate at GGN since May 2015, following roles as Associate and Designer within the same firm. Previous experience includes an internship at Snøhetta as an Architectural and Landscape Designer, as well as a landscape architecture and architecture internship at Arcturis. Joan held the position of Student Chapter President for the American Society of Landscape Architects in 2013 and has accumulated diverse design experience through various internships at firms such as Powers Bowersox Associates, Stuckenschneider Design, and Albers Studio. Educational qualifications include a Master of Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the same institution.

GGN was the recipient of the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award for Landscape Architecture in 2011. The firm’s project awards include ASLA National Awards of Excellence, ASLA and AIA Honor Awards for Design, Tucker Design Awards, Society for Campus and University Planning Awards, and Great Places Awards from the Environmental Design Research Association.
