Matthew Ling currently serves as the Nature-based Solutions Lead at GHD, overseeing the development of Nature-based Solutions for clients across the EMEA region. Previous experience includes leading the Cambridge Canopy Project at Cambridge City Council, contributing to climate resilience through significant tree planting and green infrastructure investment. With a strong background in ecosystem assessment and policy support, Ling has managed global projects valued over £1 million at UNEP-WCMC, collaborating with notable organizations such as the United Nations and the European Commission. Earlier roles include volunteer positions focused on wildlife conservation and ecology, as well as delivering protected species surveys as an Ecologist at Thomson Ecology Ltd. Matthew Ling holds a PhD in Restoration Ecology and a BSc in Environmental Sciences from Bangor University.
