Michael Vanderbeek, PPM, currently serves as the Maritime & Coastal Planning Lead at GHD since November 2021. Prior experience includes roles as Director of Ports and Maritime at Bermello Ajamil & Partners, Inc. from July 2017 to December 2021, and Deputy Port Director at Massport from February 2014 to July 2017, where oversight involved commercial strategies for the Port of Boston. Michael also held positions as Cruise Committee Chair for the American Association of Port Authorities from November 2014 to November 2016, and as Executive Committee Member for the Cruise Canada New England Alliance from June 2014 to July 2017. Previous roles include Director of Business Development at Port Everglades and various management positions at the Port of Long Beach. Michael is an adjunct instructor of Public Policy and Management at the University of Southern California, where a Master of Planning in Urban and Regional Planning was obtained.
