Simon Murphy

Simon Murphy is a seasoned environmental planning professional with extensive experience in the field, currently serving as Technical Director and Group Manager for Environment & Community at GHD since January 2020. Prior to this role, Simon held various positions at AECOM Australia Pty Ltd from August 2010, including Senior Environmental Planner and Principal Environmental Planner. Simon's expertise in town planning was further developed during tenure at HDB Town Planning & Design from 2005 to 2010 as a Town Planner. Academic qualifications include a Master of Social Science in Environment and Planning from RMIT University, a Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of New England, and a Bachelor of Environmental Science with a major in Environmental Management from the University of Newcastle. Simon's educational background began at Newcastle Grammar School.
