David Sternberg

David Sternberg, CPA, has more than 15 years of public accounting experience providing audit, transactional and general business advisory services.

Prior to joining GHJ in 2009, he worked for a Big Four firm. His industry experience includes closely held entities operating in a wide variety of industries including technology, entertainment, food and beverage, manufacturing, retail and real estate. David’s experience also includes companies backed by private-equity groups, family offices and venture capital.

David has significant clients in all of GHJ’s core niche areas and enjoys working in both a due diligence and advisory role with his clients. He has built trusted relationships with clients who know they can count on him to help them with their needs.

In addition to performing audits and reviews, he has extensive experience in advising in the area of mergers and acquisitions, providing financial due diligence consulting such as quality of earnings, working capital analysis, EBITDA analysis and projections. David has assisted on deals ranging from $5 million to $200 million.

David’s transaction advisory experience is an asset to GHJ’s Transaction Advisory Services Practice, and his consultative mindset contributes to GHJ’ ongoing growth within its Advisory Practice. David embraces diversity and innovation to help clients and GHJ #BeMore successful. He is also passionate about developing and empowering GHJ’s people to #BeMore for their clients, the firm and themselves.

David graduated with a business science degree, majoring in finance and a post graduate diploma in accounting, from the University of Cape Town. He is qualified as a CPA and Chartered Accountant.
