Principal, Los Angeles at ghSMART

Tim is a Principal at ghSMART, where he advises investors, boards, and executives on their leadership priorities. He partners with clients on leadership development, top team effectiveness, talent selection, and succession planning.

Before joining ghSMART, Tim was a Director at McKinsey & Company where he led McKinsey’s global investment and innovation unit responsible for diligence, investment, and success of McKinsey’s innovation and new ventures portfolio. In this role Tim led the Portfolio Management team responsible for assessing and advising the founding executive teams seeking investment. Tim was a full voting member of the Firm’s innovation Investment Committee, as well as global Talent Review Committees. Prior, Tim was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey, serving private and public sector clients on top-team effectiveness, operating model design, innovation strategy, and corporate venturing. Tim also oversaw talent selection at Yale and Dartmouth.

Tim began his career teaching History and Leadership Development at the KIPP schools, and later joined Teach For America’s Emerging Markets Team, where he served on the Senior Talent Selection Committee. Tim earned his MBA from Yale, and lives in Los Angeles with his partner Kate.
