John Barr is an experienced CEO and board member with a strong background in the medical industry. They held various positions at Baxter Healthcare from 1981 to 1989, and later served as President and CEO of V.I. Technologies from 1997 to 2005. Barr led AGA Medical as Chief Operating Officer from 2005 to 2008 and as President from 2010 to 2011. They continued to make significant contributions as CEO of Surgical Specialties Inc from 2014 to 2017 and held board roles at several companies, including EarlySense and Valeritas. Currently, Barr is the Non-Executive Chairman at Nitinotes Surgical and a board member at Morphic Medical. They earned a BS in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
