Malcolm Dearing began their work experience in 1987 as an Applications Manager at KN Werkzeugmaschinen. In this role, they managed specialized solutions for the CNC industry, focusing on CAD-CAM applications in lathe, mill/turn, 2D & 3D milling, as well as multi-axis programming. Malcolm held this position until January 2005.

Afterwards, Dearing worked as a Consultant at Somatech from January 2005 to December 2009, and at WInTool AG from June 2007 to January 2013.

In 2014, Dearing joined 3D Systems - GibbsCAM as an Application Engineer and they are still serving in this role.

Additionally, Dearing has been self-employed since October 2015, where they hold the position of CEO.

Malcolm Dearing attended Hull College from 1969 to 1973, where they obtained a City & Guilds degree in Engineering. Later, from 1978 to 1980, they enrolled in The University of Manchester, where they pursued an HNC (Higher National Certificate) in Engineering. It is worth noting that Malcolm Dearing has an additional certification, an HNC, obtained from Manchester UMIST, though the specific month and year of obtaining it are not provided.
