Clement Fernando

Clement Fernando has a diverse range of work experience starting in 2012 as an Associate PHP Web Developer at Interflext. Clement then worked as a Software Engineer at Virtusa from 2014 to 2016, where they gained experience in banking systems and healthcare claims systems. Following that, they worked as a Full Stack Engineer at eTenders.lk from 2016 to 2017, specializing in PHP and MySQL. In 2017, they became self-employed as a Full Stack Engineer before co-founding PlanMash in 2018. PlanMash was a successful startup recognized by AngelHack and GBG Stories Search. Additionally, Clement held the position of Senior Software Engineer at Lanka Software Foundation from 2018 to 2020. In 2021, they worked as an Associate Tech Lead at Stekz and Gapstars, and in 2022, they transitioned to the roles of Senior Python Developer and Lead Python Engineer through U3 Infotech, where they primarily focused on backend and frontend development, along with data engineering tasks.

Clement Fernando obtained a BSc in Computer Science from University College Dublin in 2014. Prior to that, they attended St. Joseph's College in Colombo 10 until 2007. Clement also holds a Higher Diploma in Computer Based Information Systems (HDCBIS) from The National Institute of Business Management (NIBM), which they obtained in 2011. Additionally, they have a Diploma in Computer System Design (DCSD) from NIBM, which they completed in 2010. Clement has further certifications, including Extreme Programming (XP) & Scrum Methodology from Chakray Consulting (obtained year: 2020), Machine Learning Bootcamp from Google Developers Group (obtained year: 2019), Virtusa Certified Scrum Master (obtained month: August, year: 2015), and a Certified System Architect certification from Pegasystems (obtained year: 2015).
