Unlocking doors to employment for women overcoming multiple disadvantage.

Gifted Women works alongside women in Plymouth and the surrounding areas who are rebuilding their lives after homelessness, problematic substance use, and contact with the justice system - experiences rooted in trauma.

We believe employment offers more than a wage – it provides purpose, dignity, stability, and the opportunity to build an independent future.

Through our trauma-informed approach rooted in Safety, Trust, Choice, Collaboration, Empowerment, and Joy, we help create pathways where systemic barriers and stigma have previously stood in the way.

What we offer:
One-to-one support tailored to individual journeys toward employment
Flourish – our 12-week group course building confidence and skills
Weekly social and employability drop-ins for connection and practical support
Work experience placements with local businesses
Support to overcome barriers like transport costs, appropriate clothing, and lack of confidence
Guidance transitioning into paid work when ready

We work in partnership with local employers and other support services, recognising that meaningful change happens through collaboration.

The women we support already have strength and resilience – our role is to provide opportunities, tools, and belief as they take the next steps on their own terms.

"Since I have been working again, I have found that I look forward to waking up in the morning.""I feel like I now have a purpose. This process has been very important to me as I had lost the confidence in thinking I could work again."
