Staff QA Engineer at GigaIO

Fredrick Young has worked in the software and hardware engineering industry since 1989. Fredrick started as a Senior Electronics Technician at FPS Computing / Floating Point Systems. Fredrick then moved to Cray Research where they worked as a Hardware Engineer from 1991 to 1996. In 1996, they joined Sun Microsystems as a Software Engineer MTS2 and worked their way up to Senior Software Engineer MTS4 before Oracle acquired Sun Microsystems in 2010. At Oracle, they worked as a Principle Software Engineer from 2012 to 2017, developing Power-On-Self-Test (POST) firmware diagnostics for Oracle's SPARC M5/6, M7, S7, and M8 multi-processor/core/thread computer servers using C and assembly language. In 2018, they joined TAD PGS, Inc. as a Staff Software Developer. In 2019, they moved to General Atomics Aeronautical Systems as a STAFF SOFWARE DEVELOPER, developing software for compliance verification for aviation standards DO-178B/C. Currently, they are working as a Staff QA Engineer at GigaIO since 2021.

Fredrick Young obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UC San Diego in 2001 and an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from ITT Technical Institute-San Diego. Fredrick also holds certifications in C++ Essential Training from LinkedIn, obtained in January 2018, and Learning C++ from LinkedIn, obtained in December 2017.
