Dan Valiente

Dan Valiente has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Dan began their career as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, where they demonstrated leadership skills and was responsible for directing a squad of Marines. After their military service, they worked as a Global Security Operator at Gavin de Becker & Associates, where they monitored and analyzed security-related incidents and implemented access control procedures.

In 2016, Dan joined Gigamon, starting as an Information Technology Intern. Dan then progressed to become an IT Systems/Network Engineer, where they provided customer support, managed and deployed Palo Alto Networks firewalls, and supported account administration for cloud-based applications.

Later, they became a Senior Network Engineer, responsible for network fundamentals, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and improving network infrastructure tools and services. In their subsequent role as a Staff Network Systems Engineer, they designed, implemented, and maintained a global network infrastructure, managed Palo Alto NGFW and Global Protect, and directed the complete build and decommissioning of network infrastructure for new offices.

Currently, Dan is working at Gigamon as a Network Operations Manager, where they oversee network operations and ensures the smooth functioning of the network infrastructure.

Dan Valiente obtained an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Saddleback College from 2010 to 2012. Dan then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, with a focus on Management Information Systems, from San Francisco State University from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, Dan Valiente has obtained several certifications including Accredited Configuration Engineer from Palo Alto Networks, Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) from Palo Alto Networks, Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA) from Cisco, and Network+ from CompTIA.
