David Barney

Senior Channel Account Manager at Gigamon

David Barney has over 30 years of work experience, starting with their role as a Supply Chain Manager - Distribution in the United States Air Force from 1989 to 2000. During their time there, they managed and operated supply systems and activities, supervised inventory control, and conducted audits of assets.

Following their military service, Barney joined Avnet Incorporated in 2000 as an Account Manager, where they managed regional relationships with high-profile partners and set sales goals based on historical and targeted growth numbers.

In 2006, Barney transitioned to Brocade Communications Systems, initially as a National Partner Manager, and later as the Senior National Partner Manager for the Americas. In these roles, they were responsible for driving overall revenue objectives within a tier 1 distribution partner (Avnet) and leading a sales and marketing team. David focused on increasing the strategic value of a $500M account within distribution and their partners while utilizing channel programs and partner development.

Barney then joined Mellanox Technologies in 2016 as the Director of Ethernet Sales and Global Channel Alliances. In this position, they played a key role in delivering the go-to-market strategy by driving joint awareness and lead generation events with alliance partners. David also focused on increasing product market adoption and maintaining meaningful relationships with partner leadership.

Most recently, Barney worked at Gigamon as a Senior Channel Account Manager, responsible for driving revenue targets and enablement initiatives for the Western United States and Latin America.

Throughout their career, Barney has demonstrated strong leadership skills, relationship management, and a focus on driving revenue growth and strategic partnerships.

David Barney earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management from Park University, which they attended from 1993 to 2000. David also obtained an Associate's Degree in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from the Community College of the Air Force, where they studied from 1993 to 1995. Before attending college, David graduated from Minford High School, although the specific dates are not provided.
