Jamil started their career in 2000 with the Marine Corps Recruiting Command, where they served in various roles, including Cyber Network Systems Chief and Staff Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge. In 2008, Jamil joined the 9th Communications Battalion, where they held multiple positions, including Substance Abuse Control Officer, Company Operations Chief, Joint Task Force Enabler Chief/Cyber Systems Chief, and Cyber Systems Chief Instructor. In these roles, they gained experience in cyber systems planning, design, installation, operation, and maintenance. Jamil also provided training and instruction to Marines on topics such as active directory, network services, and tactical communication systems.

In 2016, Jamil joined the Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command as an Information Security Specialist. Jamil worked in this role for almost five years, during which they played a vital role in ensuring the security of information systems.

In 2021, Jamil transitioned to SAIC as a Principal Systems Engineer. Here, they continued to utilize their expertise in systems engineering and contributed to the success of various projects.

Currently, Jamil is working at Gigamon as a Sales Engineer, focusing on the Department of Defense (DoD). Their responsibilities include leveraging their technical knowledge to support sales efforts and provide solutions to meet the specific needs of DoD customers.
