Chen Chen is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in microbiology and immunology. Currently serving as a Principal Scientist at Gilead Sciences since August 2019, Chen has progressed through roles including Senior Research Scientist I and Research Scientist in biology. Previously, Chen conducted research at the University of California, Berkeley from May 2012 to June 2018, focusing on the pathogenesis and immune response to the human pathogen Listeria monocytogenes, while also holding a postdoctoral fellow position in Daniel Portnoy's Lab. Additionally, Chen co-founded Qlife Lab, a biomedical company specializing in High Throughput Mass Spectrometry technology, which offers innovative diagnostic tests in China. Earlier research experience includes a postdoctoral role at Texas A&M University Health Science Center, investigating the molecular pathogenesis of Coxiella burnetii. Chen holds a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from China Agricultural University and a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from Texas A&M University School of Medicine.
