Ellen McGlinchey

Ellen McGlinchey, Ph.D., is a highly experienced toxicologist currently serving as a Senior Research Scientist II at Gilead Sciences since February 2019, focusing on nonclinical safety to mitigate clinical risks in drug development. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Scientist I and Study Director at Charles River Laboratories, where responsibilities encompassed planning and managing nonclinical studies in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice regulations. Ellen McGlinchey completed doctoral research under Dr. Gary Aston-Jones at Rutgers University after earning a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences (Neuroscience) from the Medical University of South Carolina, where notable achievements included being awarded the Liz Chesterman Distinguished Graduate of the Year. Additional roles at Charles River Laboratories and Connecticut College contributed to building a robust foundation in behavioral research, study design, and microbiological techniques. Ellen McGlinchey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and Psychology from Connecticut College and has also studied abroad at the University of Adelaide.
