John Thompson

John Thompson is a seasoned research professional with extensive experience in the field of chemistry. Currently serving as a Senior Research Scientist 1 at Gilead Sciences since March 2017, John manages final release testing of API products under GMP conditions while acquiring knowledge of compliance with regulatory practices. Prior to this role, John worked as an Associate Scientist II at Simon Fraser University from August 2011 to March 2017, where research focused on birefringent coordination polymers and the synthesis of ligands and polymers. John also gained valuable experience at the University of Canterbury as a Research Assistant, engaging in projects related to fluorescent probes and the functionalization of metal surfaces. Educationally, John holds a PhD in Chemistry from Simon Fraser University and Bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics from the University of Canterbury.
