Lei Miao is a research scientist currently at Gilead Sciences, holding the position of Senior Research Scientist since March 2022. Lei began working at Gilead Sciences in May 2019, focusing on various aspects of mRNA delivery and therapeutic protein expression. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral research associate role at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where Lei contributed to lipid-like materials and high-throughput screening for mRNA delivery. Lei has also served as an ORISE Fellow at the FDA, engaged in the assessment of generic drugs and quality control of antiviral drug products. Lei holds a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Shandong University and a PhD in Molecular Pharmaceutics from UNC Chapel Hill.
