Randy V. has over 19 years of experience in the fields of Environmental Health and Safety and Medicinal Chemistry. Currently serving as Senior Director of Environmental Health & Safety at Gilead Sciences since March 2006, Randy has held multiple roles within the organization, including Director and Senior Manager. Prior experience includes positions as Senior Scientist and Research Scientist at Celera Corporation, where significant contributions to the synthesis and characterization of small molecule inhibitors of cathepsin S were made. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from UC Santa Barbara, an NIH Post-Doctoral Fellowship from Harvard University, and a Certificate in Environmental Health & Safety Management from UCSC Silicon Valley Extension.
