Ricardo Ramirez

Ricardo Ramirez is a Principal Scientist at Gilead Sciences, specializing in next-generation sequencing and long-read sequencing analysis with a focus on viral genomics since February 2016. Previously, Ramirez held roles as a Senior Research Scientist and Research Scientist at the same company, developing tools and pipelines for dataset analysis and visualization. Prior experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, contributing to The Cancer Genome Atlas for bladder and lung cancer studies, and working as a technician at the University of Pittsburgh and SoBran-Inc/National Institutes of Health, where standard operating procedures and protocols were written. Ramirez earned a PhD in Molecular Biology from Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences and a B.A. in Biophysics from The Johns Hopkins University.
