Tony Li, PhD, is an accomplished medical affairs executive with extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, currently serving as the Executive Director and Head of Medical Affairs for the Kite International Region at Gilead Sciences since July 2021. In this role, Tony is a key member of the Kite Global Medical Affairs Leadership Team, responsible for building and managing the medical affairs team across Asia, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Prior to Gilead, Tony held various leadership positions at Novartis Oncology, overseeing medical strategy for cell and gene therapies, and contributed to the development and execution of medical affairs plans in the Asia-Pacific region. Tony's earlier roles include positions at Takeda, UCB, Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, and research-focused positions in pharmaceutical companies, showcasing a well-rounded expertise in medical strategy, team management, and collaboration with key opinion leaders. Tony earned a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Kochi Medical School, in addition to multiple degrees in related fields from the University of Auckland.
