John Cramer

John Cramer, PhD, is a highly experienced aerospace propulsion engineer currently serving as the Principal Propulsion Engineer and Head of Propulsion at Gilmour Space Technologies since October 2023. Alongside this role, John operates a consultancy through Cramer Propulsion Services LLC, which has been active since December 2021, providing expertise to the aerospace propulsion industry. Previous positions include Head of Propulsion at Virgin Orbit and Firefly Aerospace, as well as significant roles at Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems, Aerojet Rocketdyne, KT Engineering, Orbital Technologies Corporation, and NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. John holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, a Master’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University.
