Vice President of Customer Success at Gimmal

Richard Rans has extensive experience in customer success and leadership roles. Richard currently serves as the Vice President of Customer Success at Gimmal, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to this, they were a Founding Fellow at On Deck, where they participated in an 8-week fellowship program focused on customer success in SaaS.

Before that, Richard was the Vice President of Customer Success at metadata.io, a demand generation platform for B2B marketers. Richard held this role from 2021 to 2022. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as the Senior Director of Customer Success at Terminus: Account-Based Marketing, a company specializing in connecting B2B marketing and sales teams with their ideal customers.

Richard also has experience at Jive Software, where they served as the Director of Customer Success from 2014 to 2019. Richard led the Customer Success team and was the primary liaison for selected strategic accounts. Prior to that, they held the role of Director of Customer Success/Professional Services at Socialware from 2011 to 2014, where they helped enterprise customers maintain compliance through archiving and integration with social media platforms.

Before stepping into customer success roles, Richard worked in strategic planning and project management positions. Richard was a Director at Gimmal Group from 2005 to 2011, where they collaborated with C-level stakeholders to develop strategic plans for content, records, document management, and collaboration solutions. Additionally, they served as the Practice Lead at Blue Fish Development Group from 1999 to 2005, leading projects in data migration and enterprise-scale document management solutions.

Richard began their career as a Business Analyst at FedEx from 1995 to 1996. Overall, they bring a wealth of experience in customer success, strategic planning, and project management to their current role at Gimmal.

Richard Rans has a BA in Math/Economics from UC Santa Barbara and an MBA in Information System Management from the Texas McCombs School of Business.
