Smitha Vasanth has extensive work experience in strategic planning, operations, and project management. From 2012 onwards, they worked at Ginnie Mae, initially as a Sr. Project Manager (PMO Lead) where they led the development of their Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and oversaw multiple programs. Later, they became the lead for Ginnie Mae's Strategic Planning and Operations function within the Office of the President, where they managed day-to-day enterprise operations, developed enterprise-wide strategies, and continually improved business processes. Prior to Ginnie Mae, they worked at Counterpointe Solutions as a Program/Project Manager, and at Pyramid Systems Inc. as a Project Manager II.
Smitha Vasanth has a diverse education history. In 2010-2011, they attended George Mason University's School of Business, where they obtained a Master's degree in Technology Management (MSTM). Prior to that, from 1995-1997, they completed a Master's in Commerce (M.Com) with a focus on Commerce. Alongside their academic achievements, Smitha has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2016, they obtained the FAC-COR III certification from the Federal Acquisition Institute. In the same year, they also obtained a Master's Certification in Federal Acquisition Management with a specialization in IT from the Federal Acquisition Certification Academy (FAC Academy). In 2015, they obtained the FAC-P/PM Level III certification from the Federal Acquisition Institute. Additionally, in 2011, Smitha earned the CIO Certificate in Federal Competencies from the GSA CIO University. Lastly, in 2006, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
