Stephan Botes is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Gisual since October 2025, with prior experience as a Manager of AI/ML at Amsted Digital Solutions from August 2022 to October 2025, where architectural input on large scale platform changes and a multi-objective machine learning framework were provided. In earlier roles, Stephan led projects implementing machine learning techniques for railroad IoT data streams and developed an unsupervised learning model for railcar status determination. Additional experience includes mechanical engineering roles at Fortitude Systems and Weaver Systems, as well as service as a firefighter and EMT with the Gap Fire Company and Christiana Community Ambulance, respectively. Stephan holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and an Associate of Science in engineering from Delaware County Community College.
