Shoya Higa

Space Robotics Engineer at GITAI

Shoya Higa has a strong background in space robotics engineering. They have worked as a Space Robotics Engineer at GITAI since August 2020. Prior to this, they gained experience at various prestigious institutions. From April 2018 to July 2020, they served as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. They also worked as a Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar at the same laboratory from July 2017 to March 2018. Shoya Higa held the role of Postdoctoral Scholar at Tohoku University from April 2017 to March 2018. Additionally, they served as a Research Fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science at the Space Robotics Laboratory in Tohoku University from April 2016 to March 2018.

Shoya Higa began their education in 2005 at Okinawa National College of Technology, where they obtained an Associate's Degree in Mechanical Systems Engineering in 2010. Shoya then pursued further studies at the Okinawa National College of Technology Advanced Course, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Systems Engineering (Mechanical Systems Engineering Course) from 2010 to 2012. Following this, from 2012 to 2014, Shoya Higa attended Tohoku University, where they completed a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering. Finally, they continued their education at Tohoku University from 2014 to 2017, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Aerospace Engineering.
