Marc Austin

Marc Austin has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Marc is currently serving as the CEO and Co-Founder of Hedgehog, an open source software company focused on enabling Cloud Native application owners to deploy workloads on edge compute and distributed cloud infrastructure. Previously, they worked as the Managing Partner at IoT Capital, where they provided seed capital to entrepreneurs developing IoT applications and platforms. Marc also served as a Member and Investor at the Alliance of Angels, an angel investor group supporting startup companies.

Prior to these roles, Austin held several positions at Cisco, including the Head of Automation Strategy and Growth for Cisco Internet for the Future, where they were responsible for product strategy, go-to-market, and growth for Cisco's automation portfolio. Marc also served as the Head of Broadband IoT Products at Cisco Jasper, leading the product segment for smart homes, smart cities, and more.

Before joining Cisco, Austin worked at Amazon.com as the Director of Kindle Enterprise, where they established new Kindle businesses in education, business, and government sectors. Marc also founded GoCanvas and served as the COO, raising seed capital and acquiring the first customers.

Earlier in their career, Austin worked at Dexterra as the GM Americas, overseeing profit and loss in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. Marc also held director-level positions at AT&T Wireless, leading the BlackBerry team and developing solutions for field service automation.

Austin's expertise and experience span various domains, including software development, IoT, angel investing, and enterprise solutions.

Marc Austin attended Gonzaga Preparatory School from 1984 to 1988 and obtained a high school diploma. Marc then pursued further education at The Wharton School from 1988 to 1992, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Accounting. In 2004, they attended the CFA Institute, where they completed the CFA Level 1 certification in Finance and Financial Management Services.
