David Kunkler

David Kunkler is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in software engineering and production management within the gaming industry. Currently serving as a Staff Manager and previously as a Senior Manager and Senior Technical Program Manager at GitHub since September 2019, David has also held key roles such as Production Director at Downpour Studios, where a SAAS mobile game was developed for iOS and Android. Prior positions include Executive Producer for Call of Duty at Activision, Senior Development Director at Amazon, Senior Producer roles at Rockstar Games and Obsidian Entertainment, and a Producer at Midway Games. David's career began as the Founder of VBlank, Inc., specializing in PlayStation 2 middleware, and as a Lead Programmer at BlueSky Software, contributing to notable titles across various platforms. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Philosophy from the University of Michigan.
