Dean Tambling

Dean Tambling has diverse experience in both education and software engineering. From March to June 2011, Dean worked as a Newsroom Intern at the Santa Barbara Independent. Following that, Dean served as a Middle School Science Teacher for Teach for America from June 2011 to May 2012. In the field of software engineering, Dean held multiple positions, including Software Engineer at Everlane (September 2013 - April 2015), Web Development Instructor at General Assembly (September 2015 - December 2015), and Software Engineer at Akido Labs (June 2016 - September 2018). Subsequently, Dean worked as a Senior Software Engineer at GitHub for a brief period in September 2021 and as a Software Engineer III thereafter. Dean holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film/Cinema/Video Studies, History, and Multimedia Communications from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and completed a web development intensive at Dev Bootcamp in 2013.
