Deedee Lavinder

DeeDee Lavinder is an accomplished engineering leader currently serving as the Director of Engineering at GitHub, with a continuous presence in the industry since December 2014 through various presentations on topics such as inclusion and encryption. With a strong background in software engineering and management, DeeDee has held positions at companies including Zip Co, Elastic, and Spreedly, and has experience as a founder of The Red Hen, a boutique for children. As a director at Women Who Code, DeeDee actively contributes to promoting diversity in technology. Educationally, DeeDee holds a Bachelor of Science in International Agricultural Development from the University of California, Davis, and completed a program at The Iron Yard focused on Rails Engineering.
