Demetris Cheatham

Demetris Cheatham is an experienced leader in diversity, inclusion, and strategy, currently serving as Chief of Staff to the CEO at GitHub since September 2020. With a background in academia as a University Lecturer at North Carolina State University and previous roles including Global Diversity and Inclusion Lead at Red Hat and Chief of Staff for the Council of the District of Columbia, Demetris has a proven track record in strategic development, community engagement, and organizational leadership. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Business Management from the University of Maryland, a JD from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
