Melissa X.

Melissa X. is an experienced software engineering leader currently serving as Staff Software Engineering Manager for Desktop and CLI, as well as Mobile, at GitHub since September 2018. Previously held roles at GitHub include Senior Software Engineering Manager for Mobile and Senior Software Engineer in Actions, and Software Engineer for Marketplace. In addition to corporate roles, Melissa serves on the board of the Performing Arts Initiative for Students of Color, as Treasurer for Bridge Foundry, and has contributed to Women Who Code Boston as Director. Prior experience includes positions at thoughtbot, inc., Nuance Communications, Vlingo, Intuit, and Smarter Travel Media LLC, focusing on software development, natural language understanding, and business operations. Melissa holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Northeastern University.
