Michael Harrison is an experienced finance professional with a strong background in governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC). Currently serving as the Finance GRC Lead at GitHub since June 2021, Michael has successfully established a finance compliance team aimed at enhancing processes and systems for growth while implementing controls to mitigate risks. Prior to GitHub, Michael worked at Microsoft for over a decade in various managerial roles focusing on operations finance, SOX compliance, and IT controls. Earlier in the career, Michael contributed to Ernst & Young as an IT Risk Advisor and financial auditor. Michael holds a Master of Accounting from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Brigham Young University.
